Matches contenders for the chess crown to be held in Kazan 4 on May 26, 2011

The winner of the competition will play a match of 12 games in the world championship with Viswanathan Anand in April and May 2012. Is organized by FIDE, RSHF and Ministry of Youth, Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Involved leading grandmasters of the world: Levon Aronian (2808, Armenia) Vladimir Kramnik (2785, Russia) Veselin Topalov (2775, Bulgaria) Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (2772, Azerbaijan) Alexander Grischuk (2747, Russia) Teimour Radjabov (2744, Azerbaijan) Boris Gelfand (2733, Israel) and Gata Kamsky (2733, USA).

Competitions are held on a knockout system. In the quarterfinals and semifinals contenders play matches of 4 parties, the final match consists of 6 games. In the case of a tie game tie-breaks in rapid chess (4 games) and, if necessary, blitz (10 games).
In Kazan, the grand opening sorevnovnovaniya and passed draw color. In the first round of the quarterfinals are: Aronian, Grischuk, Radjabov, Kramnik, Kamsky-Topalov and Mamedyarov-Gelfand.
