The latest chess news from Fide is that World Chess Champion Viswanathan
Anand of India has signed a contract to defend his world chess title in
Moscow next year against Israeli Grandmaster Boris Gelfand. The contract
was signed on Saturday after the conclusion of the Sixth Tal Chess Memorial
2011 on Friday.
The World Chess Championship 2012 match will be held from May 10-May 31 at
the Tretyakovsky State Gallery, one of Russia’s finest art museums.

Some more chess news from the ongoing World Senior Chess Championships 2011
after Round 9. The event is currently on in Opatija, Croatia, from November
14 to 27. Two more rounds are to be played.
GM Bojan Kurajica (in photo) beat GM Davorin Komljenovic in the ninth round
to take a half-point lead over the others. In the women's section there are
four players in joint lead and WGM Elena Fatalibekova just half a point
