Deadline for submission of title applications for 87th FIDE Congress

Elista FIDE Office informs all National Chess Federations of the *deadline
of 6 July 2016* for submission of GM, IM, WGM, WIM, IA, FA and IO title
applications to be considered at the 87th FIDE Congress 2016.
The title applications received after this date will be surcharged 50% and
those arriving during the Congress will be charged a 100% supplement.

Today, in Crystal Hall there was a press-conference dedicated to 100 days
before the start of the Baku Chess Olympiad. The event was attended by
Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Ragimov, President of the Azerbaijan CF
Elman Rustamov, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and Mahir Mamedov,
Director of the Operational Committee of the Baku Chess Olympiad.
In particular, the Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Ragimov said as

On May 18th in Moscow Kirsan Ilyumzhinov had a working meeting with the
Minister of Tourism of Cambodia Dr. Thong Khon, who is also the President
of the Cambodian National Olympic Committee.
Dr. Khon said that Cambodia will host the 2023 Asian Games and considers
the possibility of inclusion into the programme the tournaments of national
chess, Chinese chess (xiangqi) and international (FIDE) chess.
The Cambodian side needs the organizational experience and consultations of

FIDE and the Organising Committee of the 42nd Chess Olympiad in Baku,
Republic of Azerbaijan are pleased to announce that each Federation may
send one (1) Head of Delegation to accompany the Open and Women Teams. The
accommodation on full board basis will be covered by the Organisers for the
duration of the Olympiad.

to participate in the photo exhibition that will be organized during the
42nd Chess Olympiad in the venue. The photographers can propose any
pictures related to chess, with a specific theme or not. The participation

The pictures from the exhibition will be later on displayed in chess

Poprad, Slovakia. So far more than 20 federations, have registered for the

announced that the arrival day for all the arbiters and Principals is
September 1st, and the departure day September 14th. The Arbiters meeting
will be held on September 2nd in the morning, the details regarding the
