FIDE is publishing the Top-40 spots of the average rating list from
February 2014 to January 2015, which will determine the 18 rating
qualifiers and any rating reserves needed for this year's World Cup in
Baku. As of today, all players with an average rating of over 2725.00 have
qualified to the World Cup 2015, either through rating or via other
criteria of the event regulations.

On December 30 of 2014, the programme of chess development (2015-2018) has
been approved by the government.
Programme objectives:
• Measures to support promotion and development of chess in Georgia.
• Trainings for Georgian National and Age teams to reach to appropriate
level and for the players to compete successfully in international
competitions.
• International competitions shall be held to a high level.

the list of Federation in Arrears.
Until the arrears have been paid off, players from these Federations cannot
participate in any FIDE events that are under the aegis of
a) the World Championship & Olympiad Commission or Events Commission,
b) Continental competitions that provide qualifiers to any of the aforesaid
competitions.

An exhibition of Roman Gumanyuk "Alchemy, east and chess" was opened in
Bishkek at the Museum of Fine Arts on December 18. The exhibition dedicated
to the 90th Anniversary of FIDE.
The exhibition features 33 works, 15 of which - paintings, 18 - miniatures.
The artist in his own way, from the inside, wants to show the magic and the
mystery of chess.
The author held 22 solo exhibitions in museums and galleries in Kyrgyzstan,
Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus and Bulgaria. Participated in exhibitions of

Hello chess blog friends, talented chess kid gets help from the community
as doctors say he would lose his vision - Seventh-grader Jonathen Speelman
looks like any normal 12-year-old and is a wizard at chess. He even has the
trophies to prove it.
Three years ago doctors found an incurable eye disorder, retinitis
pigmentosa, that will eventually lead to blindness that could happen at any
time.
