Dear Colleagues,
During the 2014 Tromso FIDE Congress the Rules Commission, in order to
reflect to the Anti cheating Committee’s request, altered the wording of
the article 11.3.b.
The following was included in the Minutes of the Tromso Anti Cheating
Committee Meeting of the 8 August 2014:
c. The Rules Commission reported that they have altered Law 11.3b in the

The Hungarian Chess Federation (HCF) will organize the 2014 World Youth U16
Chess Olympiad in Győr, Hungary, from 12th December (arrival) to 22nd
December (departure). The World Youth U16 Olympiad will be conducted under
the auspices of Federation Internationale Des Echecs (FIDE).

The Moscow Blitz Chess Championship Finals were held on 6th of September in
the open air by the tradition since 1948. The playing venue of this year
tournament was the summer ground of the VDNKh cultural centre (All-Russian

FIDE is happy to announce that both the World Champion Magnus Carlsen and
the Challenger Vishy Anand have signed the World Championship Match
contract and preparations are proceeding as planned.
The World Championship Match will take place in Sochi, Russia between the
7th and the 27th of November.
FIDE President invites the two Prime Ministers of Norway and India to the
opening ceremony and to the "first move". The FIDE President has also
decided to invite all World Champions to the ceremony, which will take
place on November the 7th.

Ju Wenjun and Hou Yifan became the winners of the 6th stage of the FIDE
Women’s Grand Prix in Sharjah. In the 11th round World Champion Hou Yifan
defeated Alina L’Ami to catch her compatriot Ju Wenjun, who saved an
important half a point in the game against Tatiana Kosintseva. The fight
for the bronze medal lasted till the end of the round and as a result four
players Batchimeg Tuvshintugs, Harika Dronavalli, Zhao Xue and Anna

After the tenth round of the Women’s Grand Prix in Sharjah Ju Wenjun keeps
leading. She drew with Humpy Koneru as well as Hou Yifan did against
Batchimeg Tuvshintugs, so the winner of the tournament will be determined
in the last round. Batchimeg Tuvshintugs is on the third place one point
behind of Hou Yifan. Anna Ushenina split a point with Zhao Xue and keeps
