The Organizing Committee of the World Youth Chess Championship announces
that the UAE Immigration Department has authorized the Accreditation Card
issued online as their entry permit to the UAE for the championship.
Accreditation Cards are available only to National Federations who have
their username and password. Please print and wear your Accreditation Card
on arrival in the UAE.

Day 2 of the womens blitz event, saw the reigning World Champion, Hou Yifan
break away from the field of competitors.
Day 2 of the mens blitz tournament, was a very dramatic day, where the lead
constantly kept changing.

Blitz Chess events began at the SportAccord World Mind Games 2013 in
Beijing on Saturday. This category has a different format, whereby players
will face-off two times and only have 3 minutes (+2 seconds added after
every move) for an entire game.
Valentina Gunina from Russia was leading after 10 rounds with 8 points. She
showed great play with excellent decision making. Right behind is Anna

The Kurdistan Chess Federation, Khanzad Chess Club and Capablanka Chess
Institute are organizing the 2nd International Chess Festival in Erbil,
Kurdistan region, Iraq.
The 9-round Swiss open is taking place from 12th to 19th December at the
Saad's Palace for Conferences & Meetings in Erbil.
Tournament director is Dlzar Hamasalih Qadir and Chief arbiter is Ashod
Vardapetyan.
Already 71 players from 19 countries are registered to take part in the

discrepancies in the visas are allowed by immigration authorities and can

The latest chess news via FIDE is that Grandmaster Anton Korobov won the
European Blitz Chess Championship 2013 that was held on 13th December at

Congratulations to Wang Yue of China and Valentina Gunina of Russia for
winning the Rapid Chess events (in the men and women's categories) at the
SportAccord World Mind Games in Beijing. The champions were crowned after
